Launched in 2008, Angels of Change was created to respond to the growing need for gender-affirming medical services for transgender youth in Los Angeles. Through the Angels of Change Calendar Project and Runway show, transgender and genderqueer youth assist in the production of positive trans* representation and are empowered to raise funds towards trans-specific health care.
Every year, the models of the Angels of Change Calendar walk the runway three times: first in their personal style or how they wish the world to see them, secondly as their desired future profession, and lastly dressed as angels.
Angels of Change is a vital service to our community. It serves as a space where for trans* youth can be leaders of their community, demonstrating to the world that trans* youth can be agents of their own change and inspiring fellow trans* youth to follow their dreams.
Proceeds of the sales of the 2012 calendar and runway show benefit Transgender Services at the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles Division of Adolescent Medicine.
